Re: Orange Competition
Well the packs have been released, you can now start (or in some cases finish) work on your Orange designs!
Good luck everyone, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Re: Orange Competition
When you get to the end of an Extreme there is a hole that the pin falls into so that you can remove the shaft from the sleeve. The 2nd hole has a pin in it which holds the draw in the shaft. After you remove the shaft from the sleeve you can then remove the draw from the shaft (think of it as a smaller shaft down the center of the main puzzle shaft). The certificate and map are wrapped around the draw.

Re: Orange Competition
so the drop pin hole is the end of the puzzle while the start is the beginning? is that what the picture of the graph is saying?

Re: Orange Competition
Actually something doesn't seem right there. I think that is actually supposed to be the maze end, not the start. I consider the main reset band as the start and that will be at column 00.

I think we're just interpreting it incorrectly.stet wrote:Actually something doesn't seem right there. I think that is actually supposed to be the maze end, not the start. I consider the main reset band as the start and that will be at column 00.
It's interesting that we are tied to the confines of the existing mazes, but that also makes sense. That is part of why I haven't spent too much time doing more than sketching my work out. The tolerances are what gets us in the end.
Now, to figure out how to make my ideas into a final maze within Chris' limits.

Re: Orange Competition
its considered the Start from a puzzle assembly point of view...

Re: Orange Competition
What do you mean by confines? There is only so much real estate around the shaft. We are given the whole playing field to work with. Or are you talking about the set of dynamic elements we have seen thus far?maztec wrote: It's interesting that we are tied to the confines of the existing mazes, but that also makes sense.
What is more interesting is the email notation requesting fewer than 72 turns.
I always thought the genie granted 3 wishes...but it looks like the revoGenie is only going to give us 2 lifelines....must use them very wisely

Some neat terms eh? "deburr" and "bashed reset"
Much to ponder and re-evaluate.
