The silver i would actually rate around 85.. The first half, that is :lol: the problem with the silvers that its probably really hard to make, so there are common issues on it.. Once you overcome the issues, its a truely awesome puzzle :) i got my idea correct but due to a flaw there was a problem in the execution.. It was super embarassing :?

Since these are revo ratings, why are we setting the easiest at 50. we've already wasted the first half or the scale.

I'm thinking a reset of the scale might make sense. What if we set the Blue at 100 and compare every puzzle to it since its logical to say it'll almost certainly be everyone's first revo.

Taking and average sampling:
Blue --> 100
Green --> 108
Bronze --> 142
Silver --> 203
Gold --> 178
Purple --> 173

Black v1 --> 104
Black v2 --> 165
Red --> 173
Orange --> 170
Titanium --> 133
Lime --> 209
Handmade --> 250
Copper -->

Im compiling numbers for an averaging and will update the above post. toss me some numbers and ill add them to my spreadsheet. An average is really important because we all have different experiences. the Bronze, im ny opinion, was by far one of the easiest puzzles ive ever opened. i opened the bronze in 2.5 hours and the silver in 6.5 months.

If you rate the blue at the same time, then ill compare all your ratings to that as a standard. OTHERWISE, if your ratings are below 100, i'll assume you are using the blue at 50/100. If your ratings are over 100, i'll assume you are using the blue at 100.

I think Dorothea made a good point which I'd like to expand on. For most, the blue ex was our introduction to revomazes. Every aspect of the puzzle was new and foreign to us. After learning the ropes on the blue, I found the green to be quite easy, even with its new element of surprise. If you solve the original series in the intended order, I think green is easier than blue and could be rated as 100 and blue as 110.

Just to complicate things. ;)

always a heated discussion....

So perhaps one needs to first define the components of a rating:

+ enjoyment
+ relative time to open
+ personal difficulty in arriving at the solution
- outside influence(s) factor (be honest ... )

.. and many others I'm sure (ie spousal factor.. ugh)

My ranking is only reflects my opinion. I left the possibility open that the hardest static maze (IMO) may, or may not be as difficult as the easiest dynamic maze. Personally, I agree that the Bronze is harder, but others may feel differently than we do. It's all good.

If you look back to the Red threads, some opened that in 30 minutes. Many feel that it might be easier then where I ranked it. To each their own.

I'd give up on this if I were you. I've seen so many discussions related to this question crash and burn with no real resolution. :lol:

The fact is that solving difficulty is something that has so many variables that I honestly don't think it could ever be accurately judged in order to show a single number that applies to even a majority.

How hard is it to learn to ride a bike from 1-100? Somethings just cant be given a universal difficulty rating. I completed and understood the 'not a canyon' on the silver within about ten minutes, but found the guards in the orange so much harder. Others have been stuck on on the silver for a long time now... Now for someone with little patience and no previous experience, they may think that the blue is of maximum difficulty and even find themselves unable to solve it ;)
