Oooooh.... Black's a good choice for our little iron planet.

Hmm... I only count 18 pieces in that photo. Hopefully just poor photography or maybe cropping. You guys knew somebody would count them, right?

Yes we knew there would be a count somewhere along the way we just couldn't fit them all on that's all :)

Is that the same color as the finalized version? I didn't see matte black on the color list, Mercury was listed as Gunmetal.

I'm not dissatisfied with it, just curious.

All the puzzle backs will be Matt Black however the actually mazes will be anodized with differing colours (ie. Gunmetal for Mercury.) It was a toss up between having the mazes black or the backs and we decided they would look better with coloured mazes.

I think that a great decision, since it is looking a lot better from the front :)
So i think that people will put them in their collection in a way that the front will be shown.

So the working parts are colored? Does that include the 'front' piece? Sorry for the questions. We don't know much about the anatomy of R2's yet so this is all fascinating. Is the 'front' panel actually the maze?

Yes the 'front piece' or revolving disk is the maze and will be anodized to the planets colour (previously listed) some will have moons others will not. Mercury's front piece will be gunmetal. The drawbar will be the same colour for all the puzzles.

Assuming there are no issues with the first 20, would you care to throw out a release date for the remaining puzzles?

(PS...bottoms look great ;) )

Does the R2's have a certificate? And when they will be available to purchase for non-voyagers?
