CE delivery status thread
Re: CE delivery status thread
I realize that shipping can sometimes take less than direct routes, but WTF are my gold plated cores doing in San Francisco. Perhaps I have the wrong tracking numbers. Time for a pm to RevoGirl.

I got mine exactly 3 years after I ordered it.
It's beautiful!

You mean you only received the puzzles? Didn't get the certificates, maps etc together?oldbushie wrote:I got mine exactly 3 years after I ordered it.It's beautiful!

That's right. No one has received any of the certificates, acetates, maps, or historical information yet.
Hi oldbushie, it also took you 3 years to write your first post. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks, Peter!
I've just been waiting silently on the sidelines all this time. I am... very patient lol.

Re: CE delivery status thread
My freshly gold plated cores arrived yesterday and they're everything I hoped they would be.
As seen in photos of other gold sets they come in heavy duty blue plastic fishnet tubes within clear plastic sealed bags. Before opening them they looked sort of dull, almost like the unplated cores seen in the HM and Ti and some prototypes cores. There's a temptation to leave them in their original packaging to maintain their minty freshness. After taking the bold step of removing their wrappers I can tell you it's a mistake not to open them. Without the wrapping the gold finish simply gleams in a way the unplated cores can't. It's a mirror like finish that's just sparkling. I'm not sure photos would do justice to the real thing. I'm very happy I spent the extra money for the gold version.
That said, when I first opened them I realized that there was some left over polishing compound still in the nooks and crannies of the mazes. A soft cloth and some Q-tips and toothpicks fixed that and left a really buffed finish behind.
I have a small issue with the gold maze that has nothing to do with the fit and finish. I've contacted Sophie about it but she hasn't had time to respond yet. In any case, it doesn't change my basic opinion of how fine this set has turned out to be.
There's no doubt that we shouldn't have had to wait this long, but It does seem to be coming to a close. Hopefully waiting 2-3 years for a product won't happen again. Hopefully waiting 2-3 months won't happen either after the CE sets are behind them.

Re: CE delivery status thread
My small issue with the gold puzzle in my CE set has been corrected in a most satisfactory way. I would say even above and beyond as far as I'm concerned. Thanks Chris and Sophie.

Re: CE delivery status thread
38 months (and a day) later I am the proud owner of my collector's set. It is so shiny I don't want to remove the plastic from the cores. Well, at least that means it can sleep with me tonight although I am not sure the missus will let me.
Many thanks to Chris and Sophie. Chris has kept his promise and Sophie has kept me from going insane. Her communications have always been timely and have restored a lot of confidence that I had lost over time in the company.

Once again this is great news!!!
The CE sets are still staying on schedule and being delivered.
I also have mine and its perfect. It's fun to see the Ti in a plated form
