Re: Buyers and Sellers

Post by MJShasko »

Well the time has come (so my boss tells me) to part with some of my puzzles if I want to continue on the R2 quest. And she is right, I'm not a collector per se and I know there are a lot of you out there that might want this puppy.

I haven't figured out how to sell this yet (as I loathe the e-bay). So I will consider options (public and private) over the next week or so. Ideally I need to sell it by mid May (2013).

BL16LE includes the original BIG box - to hold the stand, the maple stand - with the recessed coin slot, the LE coin (that still glows in the dark), un-cut certificate, and the sleeve/core/shaft/pins.

All is in mint condition - no chips / flakes / dings or dents.

IT WILL ONLY BE SHIPPED UN-ASSEMBLED !!

Ultimately, I wish to reserve sale to a "collector" - someone who will keep good care of it - and preferably to someone who doesn't already own one.

I'm open to comments on how to proceed - PM me.

hmm ... so I've been inundated with interest in the BL16LE.

I might do a raffle (with video'd draw) as interest is high as no one whats to pay silly money for a puzzle if I go to ebay or a silent auction. Details to follow later in the week to those that PM me and are interested.

Cheers
Mike

Forgot to add to the sale of BL16LE is one of the old crushed velvet draw string pouches and a circa 2009 printed "Owner's Guide".

The thing about a raffle is that most people on the revomaze hate and are fed up with raffles. With the series code and purple I think people are fed up with this. What I've seen frequently and what seems to work is renting it out like a library. Think about it. There are twenty of these in existence and plenty of people who will never be able to own one. They just want a go at it.

Rent it out! I'd pay something + a deposit for a chance to solve it (even if it's shipped open)

Rafle is good but has to be done simple Like :
Dont already have one
Any body who want to pay the X price for it is in whit only 1 number
AND only 1 draw to pick the winner

Hope you choose that cause that would probably be my only chance ever owning one ;)

In an ideal world... yes rent it. Unfortunately not all people could be trusted to give it back. Id hate to say anyone on here would do such a thing, but its always someone you would least expect.

Ive learnt that lesson well in the past :oops:
black obs v1
Blue Ob v2 = Opened
Bronze Ex = Opened
Orange Ex = Opened
Silver Ex = Opened 35-40 hours
Lime = In preparation...
Titanium = Opened 6/7 hours (Loved that final run)
Copper = On its way...

I think this kind of puzzles should be sold to a someone in an open auction (maybe best here in a thread). Then everyone have a chance to buy it and the person that think it is worth most gets it. No luck in lottery or "luck/tactic" on ebay, just as simple as the winner pays what it's worth.

I don't like the Purple lottery and I hope it won't be a lottery for this BL16LE either. And I don't believe in the idea of public lending (better to have the Obsession version for rental).
