Hi all,
Many have asked about clear sleeves, so over my break I had a shot a making a couple. I'm fairly happy with how they turned out. If you'd like to know more about how they were made, then have a look at my latest blog post where you'll see more images, and also one with a core in it.
http://puzzling-parts.thejuggler.net/?p=1921
I posted these on Facebook, and had a couple of people mention that they'd be interested in one. They take about 5 hours to make each, and including springs would probably be around $60 ... I initially thought $50, but that's without the springs.
If you're interested in me making more of these, then drop me a note, and depending on the interest, and Chris Pitt's OK, then I'll consider making some. No promises!

Re: Clear Sleeves
I'm in for at least one, maybe more than one. Nice work. While its nice to duplicate all the details of the V1 sleeve, I think the clearer the better. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Clear Sleeves
I agree with you Peter. I made the duplicate to show what could be done, and to make something which would be a true clear revo sleeve. The completely smooth version is much better as a 'clear' sleeve, as everything is visible with it. Although I posted a picture with a maze in the replica, I cannot do the same for the smooth sleeve as it would certainly give too much away.

That is a great novelty, especially as it fits perfectly.
I investigated buying acrylic tube for this purpose, but the tolerance on tubes is generally way too much to make it work as a real revo.
Does the material allow fitting a spring and pin? If so there would be no need to wait for the "cut-out sleeve" which we were expecting to see for sale from Revo HQ before Christmas...

Re: Clear Sleeves
How much do they weigh in comparison? How about friction? I think this would be a great way to introduce a friend to the idea behind them.
