No screws.

Glue strands that form a spiderweb of glue in the center of the maze. So far, no problem . . . until the ball gets caught in them!

And, ugh, the ball gets stuck in so many small nooks and crannies :|

Here's a puzzle I really recommend as a great addition to any desk:

Calendar Cube (Smaz) by Puzzleparadox, on Flickr

The Calendar Cube by Smaz. You can solve one face to make every date in the year, and anyone can solve one face.

Available for ~$17 directly from Smaz's Puzzle Shop. I bought mine via his eBay Shop, but they're not always available on there.

I know many of us tend to shy away from them, but here's another twisty puzzle that I cannot help but highly recommend:

This is the Gear Ball from Meffert's, and it is essentially the Gear Cube by Oskar van Deventer except in spherical form.

The build and turn quality is awesome, and as it is great fun to solve. It also happens to be one of the very (very) few twisty puzzles that I can actually solve, so it really isn't too difficult.

Available from either Meffert's or HKNowStore.

That looks great and I'm a fan of twisty puzzles. I'm gonna stick to mazes though. Still looks great and tempting.

I live near the HQ of the company that makes those. As such, I've managed to get all they've made thus far and I also found the scull to be a right bear! Not as hard as the globe that always seems to have one misaligned piece though.

Rox, what's their durability like? Do they feel solid? The skull looks really good.

Quite odd...I also received one of these 3D skull jigsaws for Christmas.

I own a few of these puzzles (although not as many as Rox I reckon ;)), and generally the quality is pretty good. Some hold their shape better than others. The skull for example holds it's shape very well.
