if you want difficult puzzles then none buy something else! as dovetail ''impossible objects'' are never really challenging tbh i wouldnt class them as puzzles they are more like ornaments than puzzles!

Dovetails are great looking, well manufactured objects, not really classic puzzles.
I like them.

I like the Dovetails too! very well machined. Go for both since the shipping cost (I think) will be the same whether one or two. The convex and concave both have similar solutions but the mechanism for each and method of solving is slightly different.

No not yet! But just done a little research and from what i can see all the puzzles would be simple enough to open provided no gravity pins etc hidden inside, as theres only so many things you can do with trick joints (that may be difficult to make but not difficult to open).

So some of the sandfield brothers' puzzles may be hard but i still stand by what i said.

The joints themselves are clever, but I agree that without some kind of locking mechanism then they would not be difficult to solve, because really they are just a form of joint.

But then a puzzle box without a lock would only be a box, so a locking mechanism being in place is kind of a given.

True you're right there! I probably just have a biased opinion on these types of ''puzzles'' as i've never really played with one i've found difficult and as such have lumped them all under the same category lol

The only problem I have with the dovetails is the little cubby hole is way too small to put something in
