Long time since this was active, has anyone any news on what happened to the stand competition and where we are going with the stands.

The latest on the stand competition is just what was in my last post. All the designs submitted were good but none were really viable either due to cost, complexity, or size. At MPP1 we all discussed the designs and other possible solutions to the problem and by GSL2011/MPP2 Chris had come up with a design...

The plan is that the stand will be incorporated into the shape of the new boxes, see here: New Boxes.

There was also talk that since a couple of the designs had elements which were used in the final new box, that there was still some ongoing discussion with Chris. Not heard much from that. I know both one of my design, and at least one other design was close, although not the box idea that Chris has settled on.

..... well, seeing as Gold may be about to go out, seems like a good time to ask, anyone heard anything about coins? I know Nigel already has his so he probably isn't concerned, but how about the others with 1-12 serial nos?

I'm sure everyone with a 1-12 set is getting a Gold, so having the coins sent with the Golds would be a nice idea.

Chris' intention was to send these with the Golds, I don't see what this would change. So providing the Chris managed to pick up the remaining parts from the engineers then they should be arriving soon. *fingers crossed*

I know Nigel already has his so he probably isn't concerned, but how about the others with 1-12 serial nos?

I'd swap the coins for the puzzles still outstanding!

I'm sure Chris intends to ship them with the golds as there is no reason for him to keep hold of them.

Best contact Chris about this. I see no reason why they couldn't have gone out with the golds. Perhaps just an oversight!
