Mini Revomaze Keyring Project

Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
okay. what was that machine you were useing to make this stuff?
Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
I bought a Warco Mini Mill/Drill to cut the maze onto the shaft.
To this I clamped a 4 inch Rotary Table.
Which in turn holds the collett chuck which holds the material.
Changed the drilling chuck on the machine to a collett chuck in order to hold the milling cutters.

Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
Do use a computer to program what the machine does or are you just a master crafts man and do it all by hand?!?!
Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
All done by hand.
It took me about 2 days just to make one from start to finish, and that's without making any mistakes. One wrong turn of one of those wheels and I have to start all over again. But its all good fun (mostly).
As for being a master crafts man
no, never done anything like this before a couple of months ago.

Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
My brother Philip helped me out a lot with what stuff to buy and how it all works and what books to read. He's ace with things like that. He has the big versions of what I have bought.
After I had a play with his machines I thought it would be great to have my own so I looked into what would be affordable on a smaller scale. I knew my dad would also like to use the machines cos he's always wanted to have a go at building a steam engine. (Which is coming along nicely)..
Unfortunately it's surprising what different parts and tools you need and I did have a bit of a moment when I saw my credit card statement....

Re: Mini Revomaze Keyring Project
Mark they are stunning. The detail is superb, and from what we're hearing were a great success for all who tried them.

So, erm, got a bit carried away!
Introducing the RevoMini Deluxe Version.
Maybe just a slight bit of overkill.
