I actually drew dots on the shaft in pencil to show the beginning and end of that section.

I used my thumb to measure it. When the shaft is up to a certain point on my thumb, I'm good to go :D

Got it! Apparently I had been pretty close to the finish a few times before. Just had to work out the last few turns. These things are as much about perseverance as anything else, aren't they?

Sent in my registration. Does this mean I have to get the Green?

Congratulations longtime. How does it feel to get her open?

Do you have to get green? Well I think you'd be one of the first who didn't get at least one more after solving their first! Enjoy the moment, and give your fingers a rest before getting that green!

If you have to get just one more, spend a bit and go for the bronze. It's a beautiful puzzle!

like stigy I used the thumb method, just gauge the right depth on the thumbnail and take the leap of faith

I received my Blue today. I have a feeling I am at 'that' place. At the moment it is still fun. However I feel the frustration gathering...

Start measuring carefully and you'll be past there in no time. :)

Frustration over! Just completed it. The only problem is I am away until Wednesday evening, and I didn't bring the Green Obsession with me ... not cool!
