so dig this.......
I decided to build a cannon today.....
I used a giant 2" steel bolt for the barrel stock ,starting small drilled it out to a 1/2" bore.
after drilling the 1/8" fuse hole at the bottom of the bore i filled it with gun powder i harvested from 2 shotgun shells...i added the propellant from a big rocket i had laying around..i used a drill bit to tamp it down ...after a ball of aluminum foil....hammered this until solid ...i took a small phillips head screwdriver and "picked" the fuse hole...inserted a piece of waterproof fuse and went outside......the blast was unbelievable!.....luckily it was in a commercial area,not residential......hold on to your socks its about to get bumpy!........
immediatly following the blast a large black raven flew into the shop....it landed on a box near me and stared at me...unaffraid...brazen.....i tried to get it to fly out..iit wouldnt...i shewed it outside...it sat by the dock.....i called to it...it came right to me...came inside and is still sitting on a box staring at me.......right now......so in hind sight i reviewed my actions and hammering on a metal drill bit into a cannon barrel was stupid,one spark and i would have died....and i am now ,very much like Poe,wondering if i was supposed to die ....what unforseen power has compelled this lone raven to come to me after a near death experience...was it near death...am i dead?....did the raven come to collect me?
I prayed outloud to Jesus,thanking him for sparing my life....i get too over jealous when i get interested in something ....and now this omen..this harvester is staring at me and i dont know what to make of him.....he is huge,black and stares unblinkingly....
i guess i will show him the door and close it,and mark this up as a learning experience..but i am shaken.....and still the raven stares......

I am curious that as an american you experiment with dangerous things like home made cannons when, with a permit or two, you can acutally own the real thing and use it.

Here in Australia around 98 percent of us do not own a firearm. The worst i've seen is a nut encased in a matchbox, filled with the scrapings of the match heads, taped up with a few rolls of tape then thrown down the street.....Misspent youth I think

i didnt have the money to purchase a manufactured "thundermug"..(google)....it will never shoot a projectile..its smoke and noise...no real danger..if you dont use a metal tamper
getting ready for the 4th of july is all.....getting rid of excess shotgun shells..i dont even own a shotgun
its not a weapon.......i guess its not really a cannon...just a "salute"

its called a foid card here...firearms owner ID...to buy ammunitions and gun powder you must have one.

a revomaze would do unbelievable damage used as a cannon round...like a hollow point bullet being aluminum...with a nickle core..wow great idea!

na,i have enough weapons ,i just like cannons for the noise they make....ill leave the heavy ordinances to the military
my home made "salute cannon" isnt a big enough bore to be illegal...it would fit a musketball,so its in the "handgunne" category ...little cannons .
i spent 3 hours researching cannons and it was easy to find out what they are made of and all that...just for fun,did you know some cannons are made of brass?.... ..brass?.....
i like those stumpy fat "mortars" too they are really neat..."lob cannons"
