Structure

Post by ogi »

Due to the fact that I own only one,
I have a question about the Mechanics of the Revos:
Are all Sleves identical ? Or are there differences between the colors ?

All of the sleeves are identical in terms of size around the core. There is a design difference between the original versions and the new versions, but that is only aesthetic. And the colour of the sleeves match the maze contained within (Blue, Green, Bronze etc.).

I hope I don't reveal to much with the following thoughts (Otherwise delete this post), I think it's obvious: There is a spring-loaded pin inside, which will fall off when hitting a trap. To navigate out of the traps back to the start, they all must be interconnected.
But this is a constraint regarding the maze-design, isn't it ?
Some positions of traps are predictable, And when navigating out a trap you can map the possible outer shape of a part of the maze.

All this is true for the blue maze.

If you go on there may be some changes......

OK, added some mechanical parts into the maze, but the pin is the same ? or are there some modifications regarding the pin ?
Just curious, I'm an enigneer ;)

Things that are mechanically standard in the puzzles:

Sleeve
Pin
Draw Rod

Everything else changes between puzzles.

As far as the pin goes, all the metal sleeves are pretty much the same.

The plastic obsession sleeves are different and cannot be used with the metal cores, but the basic idea is similar. In fact, I can use the removable plastic cores in the extreme sleves. One could use a nonremovable core with a clear sleeve since the pin can be removed by unscrewing a set screw.

There were slight differences between metal sleeves. Some of the dynamic puzzles did not work well with the sleeves of the static mazes. On the other hand, the static mazes work with any of the sleeves. The pin mechanism is the same for static and dynamic metal puzzles.

Now I struggle with the bronze :)
dorothea was so kind to borrow me one :D
Very Big Thanks !
Falling into the swimming pool was an essential experience, after just solving the blue one
with the repeating all over: fiddling along the known way, drop from the next edge, reset, fiddling through .. etc..etc..
Captured inside a maze within a maze !
Cool.

looking forward for the copper at christmas.. ;)
