Do any of you guys from the US insure your puzzles?
I am trying to figure out how to get some coverage on my home owners or some other type of insurance on my collection.

Store a copy of its receipt in a safe deposit box. Read your policy carefully, some require you to send a copy of the receipt and a certificate of possession or authenticity for anything over a certain value - including collections (collective value). I periodically go through my house with a video camera (quarterly), take a quick picture of everything with it, so if something is lost/stolen/broken/burnt down I can get it replaced easier by proof of possession.

Generally you can add itemized possessions to your home owners insurance for an additional cost. People frequently do this with high-end electronics, jewelry, or firearms. I don't know about collectibles because their value can be difficult to ascertain and may vary dramatically (up or down) over time. I would ask your insurance company about adding a rider to your policy for collectables. You may need to prove that you are taking steps to protect these items, for example in a safe or lock box.

If any of the others on here who have large collections would answer there thoughts I would be interested. I was wondering this as well.

I don't have any of my puzzles insured. But then again I'm not enough of a grown up to think about stuff like that.
