if you see how engineers create cars these days, its with a huge slab of clay... what if they took the design in the computer, hit print, went home and came back the next morning and had a life-sized Audi R8 printed in one shot, sitting in the show room... Big my friend, Think Big!

That is against the point of the clay block to begin with. They design the car on paper, then make a 3D model, then draw the design into a software.

yeah but you have one group doing the interior another doing the body. then theres the drivetrain, etc...

i see a real way to streamline the process and shorten preproduction time.

Not dead my friend. As long as i'm alive, i will endure to make this happen. Had my step mom not wake up for almost 6 weeks after a heart procedure during the holidays.

We are getting back on track. Looks like ThayneQ might be pulling through on the acrylic uprights for the stands. My previous contact seems to have vanished, so its great that he can help out.

I'm planning a trip to NorCal in the next couple of months and hopefully we'll be able to sit down and crank some stuff out.

Since my original master stand plan fell through and my back up plan is taking significantly longer than scheduled, i'll be meeting with some folks on Thursday in hopes that one of them can make me an acceptable master. Hopefully more on Friday!

I offer my apologies. This has gotten an extended hold. As you might have noticed i'm not on here much. Life has offered me an uber slap in the face this year; once I make it through this, these stands will be my main priority. The end of last year I lost my acrylic guy and my backup guy no longer has access to the workshop. On the plus side, a workshop has recently opened up in my county and I may be able to perform the acrylic work myself.

To give a fair estimate of time, I'm thinking early 2014.
