I'd say the handmade makes the silver seem blue.

Seriously ... all those unopened shelf warmers ??!!
That'd drive me nuts.

No. There's only one version of the black extreme. The first black obsession has the same static maze as the black extreme. All of the first black extremes were the non-removable type and so those that solved it weren't treated to the same "aha!" moment that those with the extreme got when they looked at the maze. I've always felt it was counter productive to make a design like this unopenable. Oh well...

The second black obsession is an entirely different maze design. This one was only available as a removable obsession. It was never released as an extreme Revomaze. The exact same Revomaze wore two different colored stickers on the ends of the core. At first this new design had the appropriate black labels and at some point they started using green labels.

The second black design is much trickier than the first design. Both designs are static mazes.

The reason they were both "black" is that they were designed by the companies that Chris was using to make the puzzles at the time. The first one caught Chris by surprise. I believe he had a hand in designing or revising to second design. The company associated with the second design was MERC. Chris may know which company designed the first black design, but he ain't telling.

Pcad,
It sounded add if you were reviewing the extremes followed by the obsessions. You mentioned 2 versions of the black in both sections. I have all 3 versions of the black, was wondering if there was a 4th is all. I don't know which company designed the first black, but I do know who. Not that it helps much. Lol.

I really didn't like silver... from the... infinity ring (let's just call it that since that doesn't state what it really is, but AG owners know what I'm talking about hopefully), till the end. Simply picking up the handmade told me it had similar features.... it'll probably be the last Revomaze I open. But eventually I will open it.

Not having them open would drive me nuts too of I didn't have a bigger project in the works. 9 more days and the year long project will come to an end... Then I can finish off that Orange!

I agree with Mike !

The Handmade was put on this earth just to torture those revomazers that found all the other ones too easy.
The Lime gives you almost no hint as to what needs to be done to open it.
With the Gold, unless Chris makes the algorithm more understandable it takes the brute force method to open it. We're still waiting.
The Titanium is the easiest unopened Revomaze you listed. It should be solvable.
I'm told by Sophie that the purple is dynamic and should be similar in difficulty to the orange. I would assume it doesn't use exactly the same tricks.

BTW, there are others with even more unopened Revomazes than you.

wait, there's an algorithm for the lime?

No, lime has nothing like an algorithm !

He was mixing up gold and lime.

Starting the engine in lime is something i still don't like because of the speed needed.

Brute forcing gold is still the most effective way as the algorithm is not conclusive....

there is enough to go on from the gold clues to reduce the number of steps needed to brute force the Gold to a reasonable number of attempts. not that difficult.

I nominate Pcad for president of the puzzle world. Or, at the very least, Mayor of Revomaze. Your posts are so informative and understandable. Thanks!
