I will agree that green is harder than blue only if you solve green before you solve blue.

Okay, how about this: let's assume a new player solves the series in the intended order. A rating system for a variety of attributes would be more accurate. And I'd suggest ratings out of 10 instead of 100. For example:

Blue Extreme
Dexterity 4/10
Difficulty of new concepts/tricks introduced in this puzzle 6/10

Green Extreme
Dexterity 6/10
Difficulty of new concepts/tricks introduced in this puzzle 3/10

Bronze Extreme
Dexterity 7/10
Difficulty of new concepts/tricks introduced in this puzzle 8/10

I haven't solved Silver or Gold, so I'm unqualified to comment. Heck, I haven't even finished Bronze, but my rating is based on what I've done so far.

Orange Extreme
Dexterity 8/10
Difficulty of new concepts/tricks introduced in this puzzle 9/10

Lime Extreme
Dexterity 9/10
Difficulty of new concepts/tricks introduced in this puzzle 9/10

Noticed I've emphasized the word new. I don't count the

in Green as a new feature, hence I don't consider that in the Difficulty rating.

There's my idea. Have at it.

I really like this. You can figure out the starting difficulty of the puzzle by adding up its difficulty with the previous. Such that:

Starting with Green, difficulty: 9/10
Starting with Bronze, difficulty: 17/10

Starting with Bronze makes it much more difficult than any puzzle would be _climbing the ladder_. I can also use this to know that, by skipping green, I can expect the bronze to have a difficulty of 11/10 (and, skipping from Blue to Orange, as I will be, to be ~12/10. Presuming its tricks are distinct from Bronze. Maybe closer to 15/10 with an increased dexterity requirement). You could make the starting calculation more definitive by defining which "tricks" from previous puzzles the later ones contain, e.g. Gold = Blue + Green + Orange + 7, but that's probably giving away too much.

Of course, I don't think I consider the Blue to be 6/10. But I have no basis of comparison yet (it's the only one I've gotten my hands on).

Great idea Andrew!

Thanks, D. Ranking two attributes that are reasonably objective, and restricting the scale to a max of 10, has simplified and clarified the ranking system.

Things like "time required to solve" and "enjoyment" will vary from person to person and should not be factored in - leave those things as forum conversation.

Maybe someone who has opened all of the R1 puzzles could try to grade them using this system. Maybe this will be a starting point to a realistic and objective rating system.

Additional thoughts...

For this system to work, the puzzles need an agreed upon order in which to be solved. I suggest the order they were originally released since that was the solving experience for most of you.

Also, who are we making this list for? New customers? Or is the rating system just a puzzle we are trying to figure out for our own satisfaction? To that end, should the ratings include all revo puzzles, or just the commercially available ones?

I propose blue green bronze silver orange lime as a starting point, because these seem to be the only ones that will be commercially available ever again.

So why not give them a number for multiple categories?

Starting difficulty as first Revo puzzle:
Difficulty if followed the series:
Average solving time if followed the series:

Okay then, this:

Blue
Dexterity 3/10
New concepts 6/10
Total difficulty rating: 9/20

Green
Dexterity 6/10
New concepts 4/10
Total difficulty rating: 10/20

Bronze
Dexterity 7/10
New concepts 8/10
Total difficulty rating: 15/20

Silver
Dexterity 8/10
New concepts 9/10
Total difficulty rating: 17/20

Orange
Dexterity 8/10
New concepts 9/10
Total difficulty rating: 17/20

Lime
Dexterity 9/10
New concepts 9/10
Total difficulty rating: 18/20

These ratings are valid if you solve the puzzles in the order listed above. If you skip a puzzle, like DwishR suggested, add the "new concepts" values of the puzzles you skipped to the puzzle you're attempting to get a more accurate value.

Dexterity values won't change regardless of what puzzle you start with. Wall hugging, ridge ridging and bridge crawling are what they are and require the same amount of dexterity every time you attempt them.

Average solving time is less objective and will vary wildly from solver to solver. Coming up with an accurate average time may be tricky and I propose we leave that out.

I still believe that dexterity level of bronze is max 4.

That's fair. My numbers are just a starting point.

Folks, need some help choosing what to tacke next. After Blue I have Green, Titanium, a Black in plastic (not sure the official name) and Bronze. It seems pretty clear that Green comes next, but how should I proceed after this considering these mazes above? I was thinking:
1 - Green
2 - Bronze
3 - Black (plastic one)
4 - Titanium

Is that correct?
Thanks

What colour are the symbols on the sides of the black plastic? There called obsessions btw, metals are extremes
black obs v1
Blue Ob v2 = Opened
Bronze Ex = Opened
Orange Ex = Opened
Silver Ex = Opened 35-40 hours
Lime = In preparation...
Titanium = Opened 6/7 hours (Loved that final run)
Copper = On its way...
