I have had my Revomaze Obssession Black for about a week now and its awsome (ly frustrating).
I've been looking through the posts and a few people are reccomending "mapping" as you go, any tips on how to do this? I've seen excel mentioned and one user mentions vector arrows?
I've tried road map style with streets and deadends etc but I'm not sure how it'll look when I eventually get past what I'll call the "3rd move"
Appreciate the tips, also got my brother one for his birthday so now its a race to finish!

Re: Mapping Tips
Hey, welcome to the forum
It sounds like you've already had a look around for tips on mapping but for me the easiest way is simply just to use 3 coloured pens to make a street map style map that shows the paths, walls, and traps.
The key thing with mapping is to try to make sure that everything is to the same scale so you can see if things line up. Also, I'd recommend mapping everything, including the bits which seem unimportant, and the traps.
Good luck!

Re: Mapping Tips
Thanks for the link Stigy, as I use Solidworks every day so I'm tempted to try that but I think it will overcomplicate things, might get the chaps in the workshop to make me a blank shaft I can mark up with a sharpie, the real revomaze is too awsome to mark up permenantly

Re: Mapping Tips
I use solidworks daily and unless you're *very* skilled at it then I'd say don't bother. I tried recreating a blue core in SW and gave up after the wrap tool started throwing fits from overlapping layers
I'd start simple and then if you find that method isn't working then try something else. I've never used anything other than a pen and paper for any maze (with the exception of the silver when I briefly used excel).

Re: Mapping Tips
I'm sticking with pen and paper for the moment, if we call a change in direction that's not a dead end or trap 1 "step" is it too much to ask how many "steps" there are to complete the black obsession.
