US Availability

Post by Yuriken »

Greetings,
I recently have discovered this whole world of puzzling and am fascinated by the RevoMaze. However many of the best puzzlers and producers seem to be in the UK or Europe, and our best avenue to get them is through a company like ThinkGeek. However, I was looking into the RevoMaze Extreme (plastic) and like that it is at a much lower price, but the shipping is nearly the cost of a puzzle!
Are there any more USA distributors available (that carry the plastic Extreme version)? It seems silly to spend $32 USD on a plastic puzzle and then $24 USD to ship it. 2 Puzzles would cost me nearly $100 USD shipped, whereas I could 3 puzzles for that much if shipping was free (via UPS ground) or otherwise significantly reduced.
Forgive me if I seem spoiled, but I am very used to having shipping available free (via vendors such as Amazon.com or even brick-and-mortar retailers.)

Yuriken,
Currently to the best of my knowledge the REVOMAZE Extreme Plastic Editions are only avaliable via Revomaze.co.uk. Though in the future they might be avaliable elsewhere. The quality of these puzzles are amazing as can be seen by any review found anywhere so the price is totally worth it.

I recommend getting all of them for the best value and most fun / challenge! Good Luck!! :)

I appreciate your help. Today I ordered some of the plastic ones so I could get started. I originally hoped, as others before me have, to jump straight to the hard one, in order to get the most "bang for my buck" - i.e. one that is the most difficult and lasts the longest for me unsolved.

However I also realize that a big part of the fun I plan to have is to unleash the puzzles upon my friends and family. I wouldn't mind if they actually stood a chance.

Maybe I'll put one on my desk at the office next to a sign that says "Solve the puzzle, and I'll buy you lunch."

I'm having issues trying to reach someone to ensure my tracking and shipping dates originally received are correct and still valid. I ordered over a week ago, got a same-day email from Chris, and nothing since. I tried to contact him via email and also forum PM to no avail (I'm probably just impatient.)

I'm sure Chris is a busy guy, is there someone else I can contact at Ashton Pitt about these?

Also, does anyone know what carrier is used when they ship these to the U.S.? My best guess is Royal Mail but I haven't had confirmation.

Have you tried emailing him since you ordered? He's usually pretty prompt with replying to order queries :)

No. For the moment at least, Chris is a one-man-band :)

Sorry edited my post while you were replying/quoting. I have sent another email to him, in addition to trying a forum PM to him (assuming he is ReVoMaster.)

We're getting clobbered by snow here so I thought maybe they had some bad weather or something which closed them down. He told me Wednesday 12/30 that my order would ship with a batch the following day (12/31) and I should expect it in 4-7 days. He also provided a tracking number.

My responses have gone unanswered and my tracking is still showing no activity (if I have the carrier guessed correctly.)

I am not trying to raise any alarm to others or cause issues, I am just personally both excited and worried and trying to get answers.

Fear not, if Chris has told you that it was going to be posted on 31st then I'd be pretty sure thats exactly what happened :) Clearly I can't say why your yet to receive a response but if your after a speedy response then e-mailing him is certainly better than a PM... I've spoke (via email) with him today so I know he's about but I believe he was quite busy at the time.

In terms of delivery delays it's also worth pointing out that there have also been postal delays (beyond the usual) due to the weather here too. I'd have thought if it was posted on 31/12 that it would have missed the bad weather... I guess it depends whether the courier managed to get it out of the country before the bad weather started.

It'll be well worth the wait though ;)

Chris
