Black Obs V2 ebay ...

With the older obsessions the core was not removable. I wanted to see the cores also so I modified mine to make them removable. I've done this with the Blue, Green and Black V1 obsessions. The modification doesn't affect way the playing of the puzzle but does change the appearance of the end of the core nearest the end of the maze. I don't find the cosmetic result offensive but others might. If done carefully the end of the core ends up having a groove similar to the paths inside the maze and is actually an extension of the maze that allows the pin to ride in this new path to the end of the core.

Chris did the same thing when he made the ends of the shaft a smaller diameter. This results in a nicer appearance than my modification but a groove is much easier to make than reducing the diameter of the shaft. PM me if you want more info.

BTW, I think the V1 has similar features as the V2 and is very playable but easier than the V2. If you haven't solved a Black LE or a Black V1 obsession I'd recommend buying the Black V1 obsession, especially since it isn't in production any more.

Im not sure i'd be comfortable modifying it to remove the core. im barely comfortable trying to polish the plating on my extremes in fear that the plating would come off it is that reason that i want the V2 so i can see the pretties inside. FYI the display picture on the Puzzle Master site is the same as on ebay. the only one with a v2 picture is the blue pro.

FYI, the Black V2 has been removed from eBay and Puzzle Master has updated the Black V2 picture from the V1 to the V2

I finally got my v2 black in the mail today from Ebay but it has been a nightmare trying to get it. I am defiantly not buying any more mazes of Ebay however I have ordered 3 off amazon with no problems what so ever.
