Popplocks

Post by Paradox »

I know a few of us here own or have tried out the Popplocks by Rainer Popp, so I thought we could find out what we think of them!

Hopefully at some point this year we'll also be able to add a T6 to the list! Exciting stuff! :D

Personally my favourite is the T3. I won't write it out here but you can find out why on my blog if you feel to. ;)

Poplocks

Post by kev1n »

My goodness Oli! These are very very expensive! Have you actually bought all of these? I have just ordered a Danlock and think that was a lot of money!!

How do you think the Poplocks compare to the Danlock?

Hehe! I wish! No these locks were loaned to me by Ali, and I really appreciate that he did because they are really great puzzles!

In terms of comparing them to the Danlock I'd still say that the Danlock is in a league of it's own really. I mostly say this because the whole Popplock series is specially manufactured to be puzzle locks, whereas the Danlock is actually converted into a puzzle from a real working padlock! Very clever!

I also found the sequential discovery aspect of the Danlock to be great 'Ah Ha' moments one after the other, but some movements in the Popplock series are not quite as clever. But really it is all down to personal preference. If I had paid full price for the T3 for example I would not have been upset at all, but if I had done the same for the T5 I wouldn't have been quite as happy.

At least puzzles are cheaper than SOME drugs. And more importantly, they're legal...
