A hammer isn't really the best approach given the type of force needed. I have not ever known one of these puzzles to jam shut, so with enough trying any of them will open. I think it took me something like 10 minutes to open one at the last MPP. Remember, too much force is just as useless as too little.

Are you sure you are hitting it in the correct way?? I thought one of my dovetails was stuck as well. Than I remebered the correct side,......
