Re: A new claim to the worlds hardest puzzle
Yes you're correct. I've got a fair number of Kickstarter projects under my belt. You don't get charged unless the funding goal is reached and the project ends.robbaylis79 wrote:Just to clarify. If I back this project, nothing comes off my credit card unless the goal is reached right? Has anyone ever backed anything on kickstart and had any problems?
Yes I have. The one that looks so similar to this, the Crypteks USB. It's been a nightmare, they got $196,404. They started having "issues" that required undivided attention like rebranding a non-existent product. They only had CAD files no prototypes. They are currently only giving information on Refunds, not their product, if they give any info at all.
But that's one bad experience out of 102 for me. Rest have been good.

Hmmm... worryingly it does look very similar doesnt it. How different could a cryptex looking puzzle look though.

That was merely a combination disk lock with a USB stick inside, this appears far more complex. Outside there's only so many ways a cylinder with wheels can look.

Re: A new claim to the worlds hardest puzzle
What am i getting for my pledge?robbaylis79 wrote:That £94 you pledge is to help set up the company. You then get to buy the limited edition puzzle that only pledgers can purchase. OH and the discount price as mentioned.
I cant see you getting the puzzle out of it though. With them having to honour a maze to every person that pledged £94 upwards that would defeat the object of raising the money in the 1st place as they would not have nearly that amount left after producing that many 'pledger mazes'
The early bird offer of £94 is what you pay to get the Sanity, and when that is sold out, the same goes with the second chance offer and the standard kickstarter deal. If we hit our target, the retail sale price after the kickstarter project will £149. So as it stands, the early bird offer gives you a 37% discount, the second chance offer a 31% discount and the kickstarter deal a 24% discount. Lula Sanity is not generating any profit from this project and is to 'kickstart' our business, our profit will come from the difference once it goes into the open market.
