The Rook ceased to be worth it some time ago there are far better value for money puzzles available in the auction. Take a breath and relax, there will be other Rooks in the future, there were quite a few sold when they were first available (and Castles). Unless you have money to burn and you have to have now that is, if so bid away and enjoy the auction. :)

Well since I'm not bidding against a certain forum member for the perpetual hinge this time ..... perhaps I have a chance to get it!

I recommend the perpetual hinge box, it had me stumped for quite a while before I had one of those forehead-slapping moments

It's nice that you can dismantle a section of the internals so that you can see all the mechanism too... Yarger could have been sooo much more devious with it, I think it would have made it too difficult if he had though.

Good luck if you do decide to bid :)

Already have. Lets just hope I get it this time. Really wanted to have it last time but didn't have the spare funds beyond what I bid. I really liked the review that allard put up. Fingers crossed.

:o :o :o OMG

Look what has come up in the auction!! I have had a brain attack (i.e. it went away whilst fingers went a-clicking)! I have bought a beautiful creation by Tom Lensch of Kagen's Maze burr - it cost more money than I really have right now but I'm not going to tell my wife how much for a while.

Here is the puzzle assembled on it's storage box:

Here it is in it's box:

Tom's description:
"This run will be the last Maze Burrs I will make and they are a limited edition of nine. The maze plates are made of Maple and the brass pin plates are made form either Makore or Brazilian Cherry. The frames are made from Indian Rosewood. All of the Maze Burr pieces can be stored in a box made of Ambrosia Maple.

There are 13 maze plates, 3 'exit' maze plates and 10 regular maze plates. I have added the third 'exit' maze plate that allows you to make a 116 move Maze Burr, plus thousands more. There are 5 standard pin plates and 1 spring loaded pin plate which is to be assembled under the "exit" maze plate. This allows for easy assembly of any Maze Burr puzzle and a 'way-out' if you want to start over. The Maze Burrs come with a colored 'picture' booklet showing 30 puzzles to assemble and solve and a cd with thousands of puzzles and solutions."

Not sure how I'm going to explain this!!! :D

Hi Kevin

Great looking puzzle - think your attendance at future MPP's may be compulsory!

Love the Bristle Burr by Tom as well, still available on PP.
Open = Green, Blue, Bronze, Red, Black, Black V2, resting = Silver, started = Gold, ready for when Gold gets too much = Orange.

Unfortunately I am on call on the Saturday of the MPP2 so cannot attend (Afkan is due to be in Sheffield that weekend so we will meet up on the Sunday). It will be great to meet Graham but am disappointed not to make MPP2.

If I know when MPP3 is going to be then I will definitely be there! I write our consultant on-call rota so with enough notice, I can "fix it"!

I also liked the Bristle burr but feared the "wrath" if I bought any more!

See the Stickman puzzles are now going for some serious amounts - forum members still responsible for these or are we as a group now out of the picture on these? (maybe you just wouldn't want to say).

And did anyone other than Kevin get any of the Tom Lensch puzzles? Looks like they sold out quite quickly.
