Here's a twisty puzzle that just caught my eye on eBay:

It looks like an interesting turn (excuse the pun) on the classic puzzle. :D

Whilst I am not a serious twisty puzzler at the moment (although I am working on it), I can appreciate the design, complexity and -in many cases- beauty behind some twisty puzzle designs.

One such design that I have come across recently is the Multidodecahedron from twisty designer Tom van der Zanden (TomZ):

It's essentially a puzzle within a puzzle, except the movement of the outer puzzle effects the inner one as well. The inner is a Megaminx, and the outer is a Master Penultimate.

I think in many ways it is an incredible design! So I just thought I'd share it. :)

Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd just piggy back on this one...

Anyone know where I can get a 3x3x3 Rubik's speed cube? The Rubik's website is sold out. I see a ton of Chinese knock offs for cheap, but I don't want to spend money on junk.

Also, I see they have a "new" Rubik's cube design with an improved core for faster solving. Can anyone recommend one of these from experience?

Thanks!

Andy

You definitely have to buy a stickerless DaYan Zhanchi !! Its a great speed cube - moves twice as fast as a lubed rubik's! When you put some WD40 in it it becomes fast as hell

This is absolutely one of the worse things you could possible do to a plastic puzzle. WD40 will dry out the plastic and make it very brittle.

Just ordered one from puzzle master!

Also, ordered the First Box for an amazingly good price! €180 which includes shipping to Canada.

  ok thanks! I have to buy a normal cube lube then :) you are probably right, if i dont put WD40 every month the cube becomes slow and stupid  so i guess i won't put it anymore..

Andy, have fun with your new puzzles ! You really bought the box in a great price , 180€ incl. shipping is almost cheaper than i got it from Wil!
