I was thinking of adding to my pathetic puzzle collection by getting this puzzle box...Is it a good buy?? And does it even have a compartment on the inside??

I'd say that any Karakuri puzzles will be good buys. And as the small box series is the most affordable it's a good place to start I reckon. Just don't be put off by how small they are (very small) because they make up for it in build quality.

Thanks, actually now after reading a few reviews on puzzle blogs I think I will get the #2 box instead of the #1 (apparently it's a harder to solve). I also found this guy from one of those puzzle blogs who sells puzzle plans (there are also a lot of free ones, too), for everyone out there who wants to try themhttp://homepage.ntlworld.com/bruce.viney/index.html

The one thing I will say is that a lot of the non-direct box sellers will give you the solution to open the box when you buy it. Don't use the instructions... even though you may be tempted, the satisfaction from opening a karakuri box without help is worth it. Besides, why bother buying a puzzle if you're going to just use the solution to open it ... may as well just buy a box :D

^exactly how I look at it. I'm really looking forward to being able to buy one, but don't think I will until I have gotten silver and gold (wouldn't able to forgive myself if gold sold out before I could get it)

I admit that Revomaze is the only real puzzle I enjoy. I've played with virtual puzzles before, but have little patience for rubiks cubes or those darned blacksmith puzzles.

Both great puzzles!

Have you sloved them yet? If not, here's some advice I will give; Pay close attention when taking the Equa apart. I've taken it apart and I'm still struggling to get it back together again.

I have to say that the Case Nut was pretty easy despite it's supposed level 6 hardness.

Thanks for the tips on the Equa, I've had a damn good play and thus far I'm missing the concept for getting the first piece out. Will make a note of how I take it apart now more carefully ;)

I have many of the Cast series puzzles and by far the Cast NEWS and cast Spiral are the best. Very clever and the spiral is just a beauty to play with!

You have to be careful with the Equa - it's tough to get into the right position to open it and not easy to put back! (you have to make sure you're putting it back on the right side).
