I <3 Myst!
It took a little bit of fiddling, but I got the original Myst to run on XP last night!

Another link that you guys might like is to Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection:

Bridges is my favorite! I have to do a 20x20 hard puzzle with a max of four bridges to each island now because all the others got to easy... You can set this under Type > Custom if you are interested.

Wondering if anyone has a specific recommendation for a first Japanese puzzle box. Seems like there are lots out there and many places to buy them from. Are any makes better then the others? Not looking for a collectors item. Thanks

Some of the best puzzle boxes are made by a company called the Karakuri Creation Group in Japan. They cost more than most other boxes but you really are paying for the quality, which is outstanding. As a start I'd go for a box from the Karakuri Small Box series or the the Karakuri Cube series.

Can you recommend any online sites within the UK for buying quality Japanese puzzle boxes?

Thanks.

...I've bought some from Faze3 and from Grand illusions in the UK...

[as well as Puzzlemaster in Canada, but you didn't ask about suppliers outside of the UK... it's always nice looking through the Izumiya website for ideas as well... and there is a large pile of specialist suppliers in the USA...]

Happy shopping

I've also bought from Faze 3 and Grand Illusions and found them to be pretty great.

It'd be nice to meet up with some like minded puzzlers in the UK. Sadly none of my friends are even remotely interested in puzzles. :(
