The melting block is a great puzzle, and your copy is a very nice version.
As a generic advice, please don't post pictures or descriptions of puzzle solutions.

Yep. Normally I find people reading puzzle reviews for a certain puzzle are considering buying one. Showing the solution for something I haven't solved yet would annoy me, and I'm sure others would feel the same.

Re: TheWaddler's Puzzling Blog
It certainly is an art form, and being able to show the puzzle 'solved' without giving away anything about the solution is tough. Have a look at the bloggers out there. We've all tackled the problem, and found some clever ways of imaging the puzzles. You'll find your own style, but I know in the early days, I had a few 'old hands' both in the puzzle blogging world, and puzzle solving world ask me to change an image.
Take it as a positive thing, as people are interested in what you're saying, and care about how you present it.

Re: TheWaddler's Puzzling Blog
yeah, i do try not to give anything away but sometimes it slips my mind.
I hope my little explanation of the solution is ok and you're all referring the picture (which i have removed and will change later!!). I don't think i handed the solution to anyone with that explanation
but yeah, thanks for all the comments guys

Re: TheWaddler's Puzzling Blog
Well I blurred out the picture, but looking at other people's reviews (Kevin, Allard and Neil's), they've all posted pretty much the same picture I did, so were you all referring to my explanation of the solution, or is this fine now??

Re: TheWaddler's Puzzling Blog
Personally, for 2D Assembly and probably some 3D Assembly I just wouldn't bother with any sort of image of the solution.
Reviews of puzzle boxes are generally what I fear most though. I love reading about them but with the price they are, if I get a hint of the solution before I've tried the puzzle for myself either through a poorly thought out image or some description in the text it'll generally be the last time I visit that site... unless there's a big spoiler alert that I've decided to ignore.

I'll make sure i add a "spoiler alert" if i ever get and decide to review any puzzle boxes then ... just for you

thanks for the suggestion

Re: TheWaddler's Puzzling Blog
Just an idea, but when I read all these blogs, I do not care to see picture proof that the person has solved said puzzle. I like a picture or two of the beauty of the puzzle, and a review of the difficulty, maker, how the puzzle was acquired, story behind solving, etc. But I take it as a given that if you are writing about it you have solved it. And some puzzles do not tell you what their solved state is. For instance a lot of Wil's puzzles would be ruined if you showed any picture of the solved state. Just my two cents.
