Hmmm, it reminds me about when buying a movie, do I buy the first copy or do I wait for the collectors edition, will there be a collectors edition, often we don't know. Will we watch once, multiple times, with friends or will we store it in a airtight vault.
I try to think "do I want it? will I enjoy it?" and go from there.

It was a metaphor for you whom did not realize.

I personally feel the main reason to get a CE is to have all the puzzles when you didn't purchase the originals and you can actually wait for them. The gold is going to be 250 for the CE and 250 for the rest of us. Why can't the TiX be the same? The black and the handmade I understand. They were limited to 20 but at least the general population got a chance to buy one. Why not at least let us preorder it and after he can stop making it whenever he wants just like the redX.

...Stafford isn't all that far form a major concentration of Revo-ers - commonly known as the Redditch / Warwick / Barnt Green conurbation...

I'll admit, the prospect of Gold plated mazes sounds pretty tempting. In the event they are still available several months from now when I get my tax return I might even consider it for the Titanium and the other collector stuff it comes with.

Anyone know how many sets are still available?

As far as I know, information like this has never been publicly released although it has certainly been requested numerous times :? That being said, I may consider doing the same!
