I always close my maze, but leave the holes lined up in case I want to re-open or reset to solve again. My logic for closing the maze back in there is to stop hair and stuff from being stuck in the maze paths.

Mapping helps, as I tend to move slower when I map and this allows me to go for longer. Also allows me to get back to where I left off when I decide to take a break. No... It definitely is and in many of the registered pages people have stated to take frequent breaks. We don't need warnings or any additional tips.
