Almost wish we had an "opened" forum to discuss puzzles like this. That would probably spawn thousands of subforums, oh well.

I think that's a good idea but it doesn't belong on this forum. Puzzle Place would be my guess as to where it might work.

This is a perfect design for a 'trick lock' and Rainer already has design concepts for T9 & T10.

IMHO, The T8 reminds me a little bit like one of the R1 ReVoMazes. I'm not going to say which one and I hope no one else posts their guess. If you know what I'm thinking you can just agree or disagree, but it would be a spoiler if someone said which one.

Puzzle Place already has this area... it's just that nobody can see/use it at the moment. As much as anything, we thought it may be a useful place to keep info for puzzles with undocumented solutions or solutions that are largely unknown - Roger puzzles for example. However, as we weren't sure how it would be received by some puzzlers since it's sometimes a bit of a touchy subject, we never enabled it for use.

If its something that people are interested in then contact me on puzzle place and we can begin to organise it. To prevent solutions landing up spread to the four corner of the web it would have to be a closed group and access would only be given to known people... or people known to known people.

Back on topic... I received my copy of the T8 the other day and although it didn't take long to open I thought the mechanism was great. I'm very glad I managed to grab a copy!

I feel a bit stupid. I had trouble with the first step. I was on the right track early on, but couldn't get it to work. I moved on to try other things, but nothing worked. Finally I had to glance at the first picture of the solve sheet. I immediately understood i had been on the right track from the start. I haven't solved the second trick yet though.

Just a heads up to anyone who's not done it yet. Don't give up on an early hunch, it might be right and you just haven't got it to work yet.

Got my T8 some days ago, just managed to open it.
Great mechanism, i hope to get some other Popplocks......

Also received the latest Popplock. Do like it, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed in the number of steps. But than again the last step took me ages (well it felt like it).

After reading a load of information on the Popplocks I am now interested about how you (who have all locks in your collection or tried all of the locks at least) would just the difficulties. If you would need to write down a rating from 1-8 (1 being the most simple lock and 8 the toughest), how would it look like (from the infroatmion I gathered it should start with T7 and end with T1)?

how did you determine the scale should be 1-8? seems kind of odd. since there are 7 puzzles i can see 1-7 or the usual 1-10. or 1-100 for a little more diversification...
