Re: Casino .... in lego!
That is awesome! Do you know what sets those base grey circles are in?
I'm collecting unplated cores! Make me an offer if you are looking to part with any. Always looking for a black and a purple, too

Working on a parts list (for me...)

Awesome.
I just received the Casino. What a great packing puzzle!
Multiple moves and the disks are all the same size.
Bricklink is the place to go for parts.

Re: Casino .... in lego!
Although they do look pretty close to the proper dimensional ratios, the actual puzzle is one of very exacting tolerances. I would be AMAZED if this Lego creation managed to get all those ratios and cumulative measurements correct. Or to put it another way, "perfect".
Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I have personally built a six piece traditional level 4 burr from Legos, and I'm all about exploring alternate materials to build puzzles I'd otherwise never have. Props to the OP's office mate for the time and effort. Oh, and if by chance this really is a truly functional Casino clone, sign me up for the parts list

Re: Casino .... in lego!
Out of curiosity I'll measure it all today sometime if I can
I played it and only got the one solution again
Being an engineer I think he wanted it as close as possible to the original or scaled slightly but it looks 1/1 to me

This is great! I wouldn't think it would have to be exact to maintain the puzzles integrity and sole solution but could be wrong. I should get mine this week so you are making me even more excited!

Re: Casino .... in lego!
If there is no force needed and the first piece does not just fall out to unpack, then it’s correct.

Re: Casino .... in lego!
Well, I could certainly envision combinations of loose tolerances that allow *other* solutions. After all, you are just *this* close to fitting that last piece when you first start exploring it. Off by just a few percent in any of a couple of places would be enough...
Again, I am super-excited to build this myself if it's accurate enough! Parts list, please!

Re: Casino .... in lego!
darctangent...what do you mean by "the first piece doesn't just fall out to upack"? When I put the last piece in...it freely falls in and out of the box. So when unpacking it freely falls out when I tip it over. I am not certain I have solved it the correct way but every piece I put in I am dropping in using gravity alone with zero force.
If I do the exact same moves but rotate the box 90 degrees I would end up with a configuration that no pieces would freely fall out but I need force to get the pieces into the box this way. I know this because my wife solved it incorrectly this way using force.
