Automatic RevoSolver - looking for reasons to make one

Post by Botnik »

Hello Everyone,
I'm a member in this community for about 2 years now.
already solved the Mint, bronze in progress, Indigo on the shelf and Salmon pre-ordered.
I had this idea for a while .... take a 3d printer ,2 stepper motors and an arduino to create an automatic revomaze solver/mapper.
I tried thinking of good implementation for this contraption, all I could think of was:
- Quality control - for revohq
- Produce high quality maps for open forum - for us

What good uses do you see in mind?

Opening harder to navigate revos which were put together wrong making it harder to navigate places
....No that totally was not me and the bronze....and yes its fixed haha

Aqua-bronze may work with this, but other puzzles need additional modes of movement.

I agree with you,I'll have to take that into account, but as i have said I didn't solve anything other than Mint, so other types of dynamic parts are currently unknown to me.
the horizonal slam sounds weird but i think i can figure something out.
BTW adding maze spin or tilt will not be an issue to add to the total construction (already got a few ideas in mind) It will only make the navigation algorithm more complicated to make (especially discovering them).

Take into consideration ***** for that some revo need to make *****

Hope that doesn’t give too much away

Would love to see a machine work his way through a revo without programming the design first that would be awesome

Another issue is the power of some stepper motors. If you tell it to go left, it will regardless of whether there is a path.

Noted. Thanks. First it'll tackle the static mazes and then discover how to work with dynamic parts, one step at a time.

With the help of 1 or 2 FSR(Force-sensing resistor) I'll be able to take force measurements with (hopefully if all goes to plan). Not only to prevent overstepping but may be able to indicate the height of the path - more force for higher paths and less force for lower paths or trap routes. For trap detection maybe combination of force detection combined with a microphone waiting for the infamous click.

Oh another reason:
So rich people can buy all the revomazes and open them without having to hire a bunch of people...

No idea
I've actually witnessed an opening of a package, brief examination of the item, then the reading of the solution sheet going hmm, ok...

Yea, I don't know that person anymore
