Re: Wil Strijbos!!!
Here's a version of what I said to someone who recently PMed me the same...
Firstly, don't buy it because you feel pressured into it. If you do, you'll not enjoy playing with it.
Personally, I love sequential discovery puzzles, they're probably my favourite so I really enjoyed it. While I was maybe expecting it to take me a little longer than it did (I estimate between 1.5 and 2 hours), I'm not disappointed as I think it's pretty clever. However, I can see that if others solved it this quick they may be upset for what it cost.
As much as anything, it really is a collectors piece. I can't see many (if any) people that buy one will to sell it on. You could buy it and sell it on, however, I doubt you would. 'Your' puzzle wouldn't necessarily mean as much to the next owner as there's a *very* small amount that is personalised to the original owner.
If you're seriously into puzzles & puzzle collecting, then yeah, it's worth scraping the cash together, but don't get one just because I said it's good - get it because you really want it. I think Wil alluded to this in his emails though.
While I've got mine open, Wil has presented an extra challenge (as mentioned in the email) which I still have no idea how I'm supposed to figure out. And as for the phone number... wtf?
Don't ask for pictures or more descriptions of the mechanism(s) - it won't happen.
