Other than the black which can't be made any longer, the red which shouldn't be made, and the handmade which isn't cnc'd, the others (orange, lime and titanium) are still available... so which bugs you?
Why shouldn't Red? I know it's devilishly deceptive, but it's still got the sticker.

I didn't realize the Purples were all Hand Made, if that's true then I can understand, but it's still irritating.

It all basically boils down to there will be people with forever incomplete collections of something that is produced. TI/CE has been sold out for weeks that I can remember.

It doesn't have to suck for me specifically for me to feel bad about it in general, I wish everyone here could have the collection of Revomazes they all want, and not for an unreasonable price. Yes reasonable price is relative and it can be argued it's worth what someone's willing to pay for it, but I'm sure you know what I mean. If not it's just being argumentative.

I don't expect Mr. Pitt or Mr. Nixon to read this and suddenly have a change of heart about it all and start mass producing every model, it's just my opinion that I feel sorry about people not having the collections they want. Maybe Hate was too strong of a word to use?

Firstly I think GBP6,000/- is way way too high for a Revo (or any puzzle for that matter). Chris Pitt obviously knows no one will pay that kind of price (well, after all, its still available on the site for sale) and wants participation in the lottery.

Between the lottery or a real hands-on competition, I think the latter is a fairer system as its skilled based and not something decided by chance.

IMHO, what Chris should do is to make the Purple Revo available as a limited edition but also in sufficient numbers. At a high price but not exorbitant price. A good number I feel would be between 125 to 175 units. Enough units to make it desirable but not too many to end up mass appeal. That way, most if not all real serious collectors would get a chance to own one. Non-serious collectors would also have a chance to own one now, because there will be enough to go around to a majority of buyers. From a financial standpoint, Chris Pitt would also be able to reap a handsome profit and continue to R&D new puzzles.

Once all the hype has died down and as the months (and years) go by, there may be owners who will wish for one reason or another, to part with their Purples from time to time. This way, there will be Purples making their way into the resale/second hand market and allow newcomers, or those who missed out initially to get their hands on a copy.

Very limited editions like the HM and Black Ex (which only have 20 units each) virtually will never change hands because everyone who owns them are hardcore/super serious collectors who will never part with them even if their lives depended on it.

ah ... hmmm ...

I really only got the BL and HM cause I wanted the "puzzle" experience. I would say I'm neither a serious collector or hardcore puzzler ... so having said that I know one day I'll part with mine....or maybe trade for the PUTI combo :)

Where's the signup list for when you get rid of them? =D put me on it!

I probably wouldn't even keep it forever either. I'll keep my mass produced set, but I have a feeling I'll get rid of my extra TI.

If I remember correctly at least 2 Black Extremes changed hands last year. So there's always hope.

No, I can think of puzzles that are legitimately worth that amount and more. However, they rightfully appeal mostly to collectors, which is a sad loss, but a hard truth. Just one quick example: Kagen Schaefer's Pipe Organ Desk.

I can think of at least one former forum member who quite likely would pay that price, if he is still interested in RevoMaze.

That is simply wrong. Several have exchanged hands. Even I contemplate selling my HM#1 from time to time, but admit I have an interest in actually solving it first. As it is, I have picked it up maybe twice, spent about three minutes on it, and put it right back down because my daughter was clamoring for my attention. Maybe some day I'll get the time to solve it.

Hi guys,

Just to clarify, we do not expect anyone to purchase the Purple Revomaze on our website.

It is simply a reference point for anyone purchasing a Pro as anyone who solves the Pro in under 60 seconds will receive the Purple currently for sale on the website.

So, just out of curiosity; If someone were to go mad and actually buy that Purple currently available would there then no longer be one available for the fastest Blue Pro opener?
