Ball In Cylinder Puzzle No 1

Post by jerryloo71 »

Hello Everyone

The Ball in Cylinder No1 Puzzle below is my second mechanical puzzle design. I feel it is way much better than my first (the RevoLUTION Ball Puzzle), not only in terms of the different trick involved but also more aesthetically pleasing. The object is to remove the hidden ball bearing inside the cylinder.

After 3 prototypes, I finally got the metal fabricator to produce a small quantity of units. The puzzle is made entirely out of 6061 aluminium. I am very happy with the outcome.

I sent several copies to some of the experienced puzzlers cum bloggers in our community and so far the feedback has been very encouraging. Please see Kevin Sadler's post on his blog:-

I am enjoying all this designing and puzzle making very much and already working on my next puzzle design, the No2. Hopefully this will be out in February/March this year.

I still have a handful of units available for sale. If anyone is interested, please email me via my blog site profile below.

Great writeup on the puzzle and that photo looks stunning. Really looking forward to having a play myself, and obviously seeing what you come up with next!

It is a great puzzle! It's simple in its design, good looking, well made, reliable and tricky. You may 'solve' it a few times before you work out how to do it consistently.

If this is what Jerry's second contribution to the puzzle world is I am really looking forward to what else he has in store for us!

I see Design Competition entries in your future Jerry. ;)

I'm still waiting for mine to come in! Don't want to read too much about it so i have my own impression. Thanks Jerry! I'll definitely been paying attention to what happens with No.2.
