Why are the puzzles cooled?

Hello all,

I'm sure there is a reason that would be readily apparent if I actually went and put my puzzles in the fridge, but why are the puzzles for the live event cooled?

The puzzles are cleaned and then cooled for each player. The hotter the puzzle becomes makes your hands sweat more making it harder to grip.

When I say cooled - it will be around 6 degrees C - standard fridge.
