Oli's Puzzle Blog
Re: Oli's Puzzle Blog
I've just tried it out and it works great, I don't know why I expected it to be more difficult.

Cool! - How well does it handle angles and stuff? (or wasn't that relevant?)

I've tried but it doesn't like solutions where the voxels in the pieces don't like up with the base.allardwza wrote:Cool! - How well does it handle angles and stuff? (or wasn't that relevant?)
I know there is a way to do it, I just have no idea how.

...might be worth asking George Bell - he posted on Renegades that he'd managed to put Constantin's Nifty Fifty (? - the graph like one) into Burr Tools and confirm a solution....

Sounds like a plan! I'll let you know what he says if he has the patience to talk me through it.allardwza wrote:...might be worth asking George Bell - he posted on Renegades that he'd managed to put Constantin's Nifty Fifty (? - the graph like one) into Burr Tools and confirm a solution....

Re: Oli's Puzzle Blog
It handles angles pretty well, as long as they are 45 degree angles. You just need to take the time to ensure that all the segments are filled in for the full unit width. Since the dissection of the cube unit creates lots of small internal units. It's time consuming but works well
The biggest difference is the speed. It's a lot slower as there is more processing going on when you work with the more complex parts.
If you want to ask anyone abut it, I'd suggest smiteo as he's one of the authors.

Re: Oli's Puzzle Blog
You're not wrong! I've had four puzzle from Scott and they're all spot on. I did the same as you and played with them non stop for a few days which made them lose their luster slightly. Scott recommended getting some Renaissance Wax which has worked brilliantly! Here's a few quick snaps of my Rosebud too

Re: Oli's Puzzle Blog
I'll be doing a (well overdue) review later this evening.
Is there anything that anyone wants to see a review of from my collection in particular?

I'd vote for the Sandfield Salt and Pepper shakers if you're asking for suggestions...
