Wabbit.. Just remember all the puzzles for the CE don't come come assembeled... Knowing what the puzzle looks like / whats in it will make the puzzles all much easier...

Then there is two (2) options.
1. Close your eyes and assemble the RevoMazes.
2. Ask Chris to assemble them. (I don't know if he in particular will but hopefully someone can)

There are some seasoned vets that still fear the reassembling of the silver. Perhaps Chris fears the same with the gold. On second thought, perhaps that's why Spring turned Fall.

If you're going to order them assembled, I'd recommend the nickel plating. Just my opinion

I prefer the color silver before gold so I would. =)
But just for arguments sake, why nickel instead of gold?

Gold is a softer metal than nickel, so I would expect the appearance of the core would be better preserved by nickel plating, especially if you haven't opened these puzzles before. Regardless of how careful you are, you're going to wear on the plating as you explore these for the first time.

Edit: That being said, I've only ever had a plating issue with one of my puzzles, but that was a different issue all together. I just opened my silver (you're a lucky man) to examine the core closely for wear and it looks fine, even after the beating that it took at my hands. To be honest the gold plating may stand up just as well to the wear, but I would still go with nickel just to be safe.

If I remember correctly, both platinum and titanium have poor sheering strength. Which means they would wear down fairly quickly. However, pulling/stretching/bending them apart is much more difficult.

I know they are harder, but are they actually easier to shed than nickel?

Platinum is a very dense but very soft metal. Not to mention it's ridiculously expensive. Now tungsten carbide would be awesome but improbable.
