I think I'm traveling to London sometime in November. Are there any good puzzle-related stores that would be interesting to visit?

up in Camden Town there a great one - Village Games I think it is called...
you'll find a lot of stuff not available in mass market stores there...

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read mixed reviews about Hamley's, but I'll check it out. I found Village Games on Google Maps...shouldn't be too hard to find.

Hamleys is a brilliant toy shop...but not a great puzzle shop... especially if you're after the high end sort of puzzles being discussed around here... (last time I was there they had a couple by that other guy and not much else of interest, puzzle-wise - it was still worth a wander round the whole store, in my opinion - but probably I'm just a big kid!).

I've got to get myself to Village Games next time I'm down in London - "everyone" seems to think it's the best place to shop for 'real' puzzles...

FWIW, YMMV, IMHO etc.

Agreed, puzzles and games by ThinkFun are about the limit of most toy shops and Hamleys is also guilt of this. Puzzle shops are rare anywhere.

Well, I have arrived in London. Checked out Village Games yesterday. It is in, shall we say, an interesting neighborhood. I never knew there was such demand for tattoo and piercing parlors. Anyway, it is in a very tiny store tucked in a corner of Camden Locks. It was a decent selection of metal puzzles and other games, but the lack of space is very limiting. I didn't see any high-end stuff such as the revos.

I'll have to admit another place to check out is Harrod's toy departments. I hadn't browsed that part of Harrod's before, and the selection there was quite remarkable. If you search hard enough, you can find a a decent selection of puzzles. There were several games I wanted to buy, but I couldn't do so because I have limited luggage space for the journey back home. That just means I must do a return trip sometime in the future.

I always love coming here. If it just wasn't so expensive...
