I had one theory for Puzzle #2 but I cannot test it. I have tried a couple of ways but it doesn't work. I give up for today and see if I can come up with another theory that is easier to perform.

Some data matters not immediately and some does not matter at all.

A major clue for puzzle 2 will come next week. You are thus left with the choice to wait, or try to solve it without that clue.
