Blind Labyrinth (1983)

Post by ghxost »

Anyone seen these? Apparently from the '80s and only a few thousand produced.

Seems like an interesting find as I had never seen anything like revo before. Curious if anyone has the 1c version and if it is any fun. Certainly looks easier haha!

Edit: This was supposed to be in other puzzles... sorry :D

Double edit: I must have botched my search. Meantioned in old thread. But since it's available right now still open to a dialog about them :)

Actually I remember Chris mentioning that this was his inspiration for revomaze and that he wanted to make them more challenging

You could say it’s the ancestor of revo :)

Yes, I have one of these. It’s not out on my display. It’s buried in one of my boxes of inferior puzzles. The pin in the sleeve of this puzzle is very unforgiving. It took a lot of effort to get the maze core into the sleeve, and it was very difficult to move the core because the pin is so stiff. After making only a few moves, I pulled the core out and I could see that the pinhead carved its path into the core.
I bought this in an auction because of the similarities to revomaze, but it is practically unplayable.

Nothing big enough you could just file the pin down slightly without ruining it? I imagine things produced like this in 1983 were not as precise from one to the next.

If its still around payday I'll snag one for kicks. I've spent too much to date on puzzles :x

I don’t regret buying it. It’s an interesting early inspiration to the revo. I just don’t play with it. :)

I bought both versions which are still available from sloyd. As mentioned before, the pin is very unforgiving. It does NOT slide like the Revomaze pin, but has more of a scratchy feeling to it.
