Math Brain Teaser

I came up with this after seeing a similar one on Facebook:

1+4=23
2+5=33
3+6=25
7+8=?

Still, nothing is clicking. Every time I think I find a pattern, with the first two, the third one throws a wrench in my plan.

Is this something anyone could potentially figure out through logic/reasoning; or does this require some sort of advanced math wizardry that not many people would get?

Not too advanced, I would say. There are four separate equations that follow the same rules but are independent, just like they would be for any regular equations.
