I'm really hopeful but aware that I need to get permission from them soon. I write our on call rota so would be able to arrange to not be on call! Also not arranged any travel or lodgings until I know whether I can go.
I'm sure you'll be fine Kevin. It's a little bit more laid back than things like IPP so we can sort it on the day if needs be. Geert is probably busy with arrangements but might be worth a nudge to get on the guest list with out joining the cubing club.

Hope you can make it and we'll give you all the details on Saturday.

That would be awesome Kevin!
(and would tempt me to hurry up a bit with the yak and brontosaurus).

I am sure you are welcome even before joining the NKC.
Please schedule yourself off-duty for that weekend, and let the MPP-hardcore guys convince you this weekend.

I just booked my hotel room today, with a NKC discount code, so I will be there all weekend.
In case we get bored, there is (or at least used to be) a golden pyramid nearby, and a house of parliament (the latter is surely still there, although DCD is 2 months after our elections, you never know what it will look like by then...)

Back on topic: anyone else feel free to join us (and dozens of other european puzzle designers, builders, modders, sellers, and collectors). You can read Allards weblog to get an impression of last year's episode.

Now this was absolutely awesome weekend!
The Midlands Puzzle Party People were there, and everyone could see that from the polo shirts.
We met loads of fellow puzzlers, bought loads (and loads) of puzzles, we had a very good time with our main suppliers Wil and Bernhard and others, took home several beautiful burr sets, and we even witnessed the European speedcubing record being shattered.

Thanks to all who were here, and to all others: make sure to join us next year.

And to Kevin: we regret you were not here, but you were definitely with us, in about half of the jokes we made !-)

...Thanks for taking care of all of our arrangements on that end of the trip, Louis - you made a fantastic tour guide for an excellent weekend!

What an absolutely amazing weekend! I am very happy that I decided to make the trip out this year.

It was a pretty busy weekend. So much so, I completely forgot to set my alarm this morning and ended up being late in to work!

I'll get some pictures uploaded later for people to look at. Although I haven't even unpacked my puzzles yet so it may be a little while. :?

Thanks so much to all of you who were there and made it such an enjoyable event. And of course a special thanks to Louis for organising and looking after us while we were there.

Bring on next year! :D

Also, for anyone interested, here are the results from the Dutch Open Cubing Competition:

Let me echo the thanks to Louis for his hard work over the weekend. I think we all went over our 'maximum budgets' but there were no regrets as we all came back with suitcases full of puzzles. Everyone was really welcoming and I am looking forward to DCD 2013 already! :D

You can find a few photos that I took over the DCD weekend here:

I didn't take as many as planned. I kept getting distracted by many puzzling things.

Actually it's a Professor Ghost Cube. So a standard Ghost Cube design but made from a 4x4x4 instead of a 3x3x3. It looks terrifying!
