2011 Design Competition

Post by bluesign2k »

The 72 entries for this years Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition have been released! See here:
I recognise quite a few of them already but there's also quite a few I hope will become readily available after the competition! :D

The "4 Steps Visible Lock" looks like a cross between a "Roger" puzzle and a Constantin. Anybody tried that one ?

That was one of the ones that I really liked the look of. Hopefully there will be some available to buy at somepoint :)

There are a lot of beauties on there! And surprisingly I've seen many of them before.

I'm a little surprised to see the Xmatrix puzzle on there.

Hmm I thought there was a rule about them not being commercially available before the competition... Maybe that's changed?

no, the rules don't disallow publicly available puzzles... they just have to be designed within 2 years of the competition.

That's what I thought... but hasn't the curly cube been around for longer than 2 years?

It's the IPP exchange puzzles that shall not be commercially available before the (exchange) event.

Wow, a lot of interesting ones amongst the entries... I am just too far away...wish I could be in Berlin to see what is being exchanged!
