OSX Lion
Anyone on here upgrade to Lion OSX on Mac? If so, what are your thoughts on the reverse scroll? I kind of like it, but my lab mates hate it.

Re: OSX Lion
I use enough windows sytems that it ends up being obnoxious. It's just like the scrolling on my touch devices and I think it would be perfect on a touch screen - just the way I woudl want it to work. But I'm too used to it matching the direction of the scrollbar. Now, if they had flipped the scrollbar around, that would have made a lot more sense.

Re: OSX Lion
Yeah that's a really good point. I haven't had to get on a windows computer yet. Not looking forward to it.

Re: OSX Lion
theres really not many differences. i found it really simple to transition between the two. the main difference is shortcut combinations, but even then ALT (W) becomes CTRL (M), CTRL (W) becomes APPLE, etc.

Re: OSX Lion
I've not updated yet. please tell me that the original combinations are still valid, or at least there is an option to keep the original shortcuts?ReVoRabbit wrote:theres really not many differences. i found it really simple to transition between the two. the main difference is shortcut combinations, but even then ALT (W) becomes CTRL (M), CTRL (W) becomes APPLE, etc.
Re: OSX Lion
oh he's referring to transitioning from windows. Snow leopard to Lion remains the same. Personally I love the reverse scrolling (aka. "natural scrolling"). On windows you can find tray applications that can mimic this same behavior. Takes a while to get used to, but once you've adapted, it's really intuitive because it matches the behavior of iPad and iPhone.TheJuggler wrote:I've not updated yet. please tell me that the original combinations are still valid, or at least there is an option to keep the original shortcuts?ReVoRabbit wrote:theres really not many differences. i found it really simple to transition between the two. the main difference is shortcut combinations, but even then ALT (W) becomes CTRL (M), CTRL (W) becomes APPLE, etc.

Re: OSX Lion
and in OSX you can actually change these modifiers as you see fit. E.g. you can make ctrl act like alt, or command act like shift.ReVoRabbit wrote:theres really not many differences. i found it really simple to transition between the two. the main difference is shortcut combinations, but even then ALT (W) becomes CTRL (M), CTRL (W) becomes APPLE, etc.

Re: OSX Lion
I would be fine with the reverse scrolling, if the scroll bar would respect it and move the same way it does on the phone. Unfortunately it doesn't, so it just annoys me. Maybe when I upgrade my laptop again I'll swap scrolling methods.
Also, reverse scrolling really fubars using Google Maps and zooming in/out.
