You won't be disappointed it is a lovely little puzzle, a design classic that spawned a thousand clones. ;)

I was curious which of these type of twisty puzzles was first. Reading about the Tower of Babylon, it sounds like it has been around for many years. I'm excited for it. I had fun playing the iPhone game I linked to but I think having a physical puzzle will be much more fun.

The puzzle was designed by Endre Pap in 1982 in Hungary. There are other rotating bead/column puzzles that may pre-date this puzzle but I believe this is the first using gradient colours. There were many bead puzzles produced in hungary in the 1980s including the Hungarian Rings also made by this designer, which also has many variants. The puzzle is a 6x6x6 twisty column puzzle (6 rows, 6 columns, 6 gradients per column).

If you have a DS then ROOMS is a superb puzzle.
You do need to get through a few rooms to then make it very interesting. It then starts to get quite fun .

Thought I would let everyone know I received this puzzle this morning. It moves much easier than I expected it to. I think it is a great size for travel too! Worse case scenario, I could squeeze it in my front pocket.

Before I got this puzzle, I thought, this shouldn't be too hard... I had to shuffle it almost immediately and at first glance, I'm not sure where to start now. I'll take a closer look at it over lunch.

Yeah, this is more difficult than I had originally anticipated.
Edit: Finally getting the hang of this! I have completed half of the puzzle now.
