Portal 2

Post by MikeyZee »

Anyone a fan of the Portal series?

The first game is still one of my favourite games of all time. Definitely had to think 3 dimensionally. Some of the levels were very challenging, but also rewarding.

I really hope the second installment wont let down. Picking it up tonight on my way home from work.

Yep got to say the original was fooking tops 8-)

Going to wait for it to get a bit cheaper though as last time it was a bargain part of the Orange Box, but I'm not sure it's a 40 notes worth on it's own

There needs to be cake

Me and a friend of mine plan to do the co-op campaign tonight. See how far we can get in a couple hours. I'll come back with a review tomorrow.

I enjoyed the first portal and picked up 2. If I'm honest, I think the first game is stronger, the second seemed a lot simpler in many respects, at least in the single player. I'll get some co-op at some point with one of my friends, but I'm waiting for him to get back from his hols first, then I'm heading back to the UK this weekend for work so it'll be a while.

I've played through the single player mode twice but haven't tried the co-op yet. My Xbox Live account is "Volitar Prime" if anyone wants to add me for some co-op action. But with a baby on the way in the next few weeks my time for playing online may be limited.

I liked both the first portal and Portal 2. Haven't played through the multiplayer part yet though, but want to. I have it on Steam (maztecs), not Xbox.

Portal 2 is easier on the platforming side of things - there are less places where you have to perfectly time things. I had several friends quit the first time around because of the requirements for timing.

The reveal in Portal 1 was significantly more awesome - a great feeling, but Portal 2 has a lot of nice story pieces that really hold up well and fill out the world, while not cheaping out on the plot elements.

I do like the additional features in teh game play and felt that overall the environments were better than Portal 1 and encouraged some more creative solutions than the first time around.

I especially like the things where there are two or three possible solutions, you just have to figure one out . .. not always sure the others were intentional though :).

Played the first three chapters of co-op mode last night with a buddy. I really enjoyed it. Some of the levels were straight forward after finishing the first portal. Other levels I had to stop and think for a moment, but eventually we figured them out. Overall, two thumbs up for fun factor.
