Any other shutterbugs out there?

Post by eeffoc »

Anyone else into photography? Have some pictures you want to share?

Here are mine http://www.flickr.com/photos/eeffoc/

I use a Nikon D300s with a Nikkor 18-200 f/3.5-5.6G ED DX VR and 50mm f1.8 lens and I usually like taking pictures of my kids and landscapes/cityscapes.

...I'm not very accomplished but I enjoy taking snaps of aircraft at airshows and scenery on holidays... and more recently, puzzles! - see my blog...

I have a D300 with 70-200 VR 2.8, 17-55 2.8, 50mm 1.4 and 1.7 TC... I like fast glass.

My wife has the D70 with assorted coke bottles...

I have way more equipment than I have talent! - come to think of it, you could probably say the same about my puzzle solving!

Any Canon shooters ???

Shooting revo cores is extremely challenging. ...brings into play macros, bellows, shallow depths of field, multi-reflective surfaces, metal textures, and indirect lighting.

Canon 5D, 50 f1.2, 35 f1.4, 135 f2.0, 200 f2.8, 100 f2.8 macro... nothing but primes baby ! If it weren't for the revos I have the 85 f1.2 by now :|

I'm a Canon user. Canon EOS 5D MKII, and a Canon Rebel XTi (or a 350D if you're in the UK) Lots of glass, mostly 1.8 or 2.8. I also connect it to my telescope ....

Canon 30D, I use about three lenses, would love to upgrade someday, but just can't afford it these days. Waiting for the 5D Mk III or equivalent.

Photos taken by me are at:
http://gallery.maztec.org/

I took almost everything there except my marriage, graduation, and a couple cross category photos.

The one I am using as my desktop these days, which I took a few months ago, is this one:
Image

It is cropped and post-filtered to clarify it a bit. I normally prefer to leave images with the default the glass gave me, but this one popped with just a touch of editing.

That's very unkind!
Here's me with my 2+ year old TZ3 and drooling over a DSLR to snap my meager puzzle collection with and then you guys come out boasting about top of the range ones (some even full frame) and then mention macro lenses and fast primes.

All I can boast about is a 1986 Canon T90 with an assortment of manual focus lenses including a Tamron 90mm macro.
It cost a fortune in it's day, is still in mint condition (despite heavy use for 4 years) and has not been touched in 10 years!
I can't be bothered with the hassle of film!

And now you guys come along and taunt me with my inadequacy and along the way I've just remembered that this piece of photo history makes me rather old too! :( :o

Mine is a 5yo APS-C. It really comes down to skill of the photographer, not the camera itself.

I only have three lenses. A 100mm micro, a 20-70mm, and an 80-300mm iirc. Could be off by 5mm or so on any of those.

Next lens I plan on getting is a 17mm t/s from Canon. And then a full frame body to make use of it. But that will be a few years.

I've yet to spend some serious cash on the digital scene, but I'm still running a 35mm Minolta Dynax 700si 8-)

Sony took over from Minolta so I know my lenses will fit the new Alphas :)

Most of my photos now are taken with my Canon Ixus 75, which I have to say I've been very pleased with :D
