Hey Neil,

Some really stunning shots in your Astronomy section.

I assume you used a telescope for the Lunar shots, can you remember what your settings were for 'Moon and Venus' picture?

Eagles are tough birds to shoot...
I don't think that is snow on the ground.

...and Kev1n - I still shoot my Canon AE1 and AT1 on occasion - it keeps me grounded. Shooting film is definitely a lost skillset these days.

The Lunar shots are all without a telescope. That's my 600mm Lens straight on the camera.

The Moon and Venus is a 1/4 second exposure, f4.0, 35mm lens at 100 ISO.

I have a record of all the settings I use for everything I take in the Astro stuff. I came from processing my own film (my Dad had a dark room) so I still do it all old school.

I like to dabble a little, I wouldn't say I'm good more just luck!

I started off with a Canon A40, moved up to a S2IS and now have a 400D with a 50mm 1.8 mkII and a Tamron 18-200mm. I really want to learn how to get the most out of the DSLR.
